Celebrating the life of Adam Rauch

Though we grieve the passing of Adam Rauch, we also celebrate the life that touched so many with love, warmth, and faith. Adam’s journey on this earth was a blessing, and his memory will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.

We remember not only the sorrow of goodbye, but also the joy of a life well lived, the laughter shared, the kindness given, and the faith that carries us forward. May we honor Adam by living with the same love and compassion he showed to others, and may God’s comfort and peace uplift all who mourn.

a note from Brooke

Dear Friends and Family,

There are no words that can fully express the heartbreak we feel after losing our favorite guy in the whole world. Adam was a huge source of joy in our lives and the grief of losing him is something our family is still trying to process each day.

In the midst of this unimaginable sorrow, we have been surrounded by an incredible outpouring of love, prayers, support, and generosity from so many of you. Every message, meal, hug, prayer, memory shared, and act of compassion has carried us through moments we did not feel strong enough to stand on our own. A true army has rallied around us, one we are in complete awe of. Please know how deeply grateful we are.

More than anything, I know this overwhelming love for me and the kids would bring Adam so much joy and peace. He loved deeply, valued friendship and family immensely, and would be profoundly touched to see the way everyone has come together to care for us. Your support is a reflection of the kind of impact he had on the people around him and the love he gave so freely throughout his life.

While our hearts are broken, we are also holding tightly to our faith in Jesus to carry us through, to the beautiful memories we made, and to the blessing of having such an extraordinary community surrounding us. We will carry his love, laughter, incredible strength, and spirit with us always.

Thank you for walking so tenderly beside us during this painful time. Your love means more than words can say.

Sincerely,

Brooke, Quinn and Emerson

Summary of a Life

Well-Lived

Adam Rauch, age 49, entered into the presence of the Lord on May 11, 2026, after courageously battling a rare and aggressive cancer. While our hearts are heavy with grief, they are also filled with gratitude for the gift of Adam’s life and the assurance of God’s promises.

Scripture reminds us in Matthew 5:16, “In the same way let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and give glory to your Father in heaven.” Adam lived that calling every day of his life. Through his kindness, leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication to young people, he reflected Christ’s love in a deeply meaningful way.

Adam devoted his life to education and to the students, families, and communities he served. Throughout his career with the Moorpark Unified School District, he faithfully took on many roles from high school guidance counselor, to middle school assistant principal, to elementary principal, and middle school principal. Later, he continued his work in Oak Park as Assistant Superintendent. But Adam was never simply defined by a title. To countless students, parents, teachers, and colleagues, he was a source of encouragement, wisdom, and hope.

Adam believed deeply in the potential of every child. He understood that education was not only about academics, but about shaping lives, building character, and helping young people believe in themselves. His passion for making a positive impact on the youth in his community shined through in everything he did. He led with humility, compassion, and integrity, always putting people first.

Even in the midst of illness, Adam showed tremendous strength and grace. His courage reflected a quiet but powerful faith, the kind of faith that trusts God even through life’s hardest valleys. Though cancer may have taken his earthly body, it did not diminish the spirit, love, or legacy he leaves behind.

As Christians, we mourn today, but not without hope. We hold tightly to the promise found in John 14, where Jesus says, “In my Father’s house are many rooms… I go to prepare a place for you.” We trust that Adam is now at peace in the presence of his Savior, free from pain and suffering, embraced by the eternal love of God.

Adam’s legacy will continue through the countless lives he touched. Through students who found confidence because he believed in them, through colleagues he inspired, through his friends, family and church community who knew his love, and especially through his children, who carry forward the best parts of who he was.

Today, we honor not only the accomplishments of Adam’s life, but the heart behind them. He was a servant, a leader, and a man of deep faith. A devoted husband, loving father, trusted friend, and faithful mentor. Yet of all the titles he carried, his most treasured was “Dad.” He poured his whole heart into his children, giving them every opportunity, filling their lives with laughter, and showing them unwavering love, guidance, and support each and every day. He was their rock, their joy, their steady source of strength and encouragement, a constant presence whose love shaped their lives in countless lasting ways. In the same way, he showed unwavering devotion as a husband, loving faithfully, leading selflessly, and building a home grounded in love, faith, and commitment.

Though we will miss him deeply, we thank God for the years we were blessed to share with him. And we take comfort in knowing that one day, through Christ, we will meet again.

Adam is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Brooke Rauch; his beloved children, son Quinn Rauch and daughter Emerson Rauch; his father, Stefan Rauch; his mother, Cheryl Rauch; and his brother, Paul Rauch. He also leaves behind many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and countless others whose lives were blessed by knowing him.

In Lieu of Flowers

To honor Adam’s passion for education and his enduring love for his children, contributions may be made to the children’s college fund in lieu of flowers.

The family is deeply grateful for your kindness and generosity. Contributions in Adam’s honor may be made in two ways: through the Rauch Family’s GoFundMe page, with the note “college fund” (linked below), or directly to the 529 college fund account, which will be shared in the coming weeks.
